This day will also consist of a pre-recorded message to the children and families from Dr Rosalyn Thyssenn, mother of Traeh Thyssen who died by suicide in October of 2019 which is the incident which prompted the creation of the #bullybox non-profit organization.
The purpose of this day is not only acknowledge Suicide Awareness Month but to create an environment in which a much needed and long overdue conversation can take place regarding bullying, mental health, and community involvement and the steps that parents and community members and leaders need to take to ensure no more children die by suicide.
